San Diego in July

We just got back from the most GLORIOUS week in San Diego. It was just what I needed, a nice sandy beach to relax at. We rented a house in Mission Beach and split our time between the beach, the Zoo and Sea World. Wrigley had SO much fun all week with his cousins. He especially loved the ocean. He would run in splash and then when a wave would come he would turn around and run the other way.
He tried to drink the sea water (YUCK) and I'm sure that he ate plenty of sand...but
HE LOVED IT! He is doing the sign for fish.

Buried in the sand with Dad. He loved it!
The San Diego Zoo...he wasn't too happy that day, it was especially hot out.

The La Jolla Cave!

Yup. That's a shark!
My new favorite picture! I love these two boys!

The Carousel at Sea Port Village. I used to ride it every summer when we would go as a little girl, so I had to have Wrigs ride it while we were there.

I am sad to be home, but we are looking forward to going back next year!

Anniversary #2!

Today Steve and I are celebrating Anniversary #2!

It is fun to think about the new adventure that we had just begun last year at this time as new parents. A lot has changed over the last year for us. It's been a great year and I'm so glad that I married Steve on St. Patrick's day 2 years ago!

Today for our anniversary Steve told me to meet him at the Little America at 1 with tennis shoes!

WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN?

I didn't know what he had up his sleeve but I was excited to find out!
SO...

when I met him we got in the car and he surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Gerbra daisies...my favorite!

He drove us up to Ensign Peak and we hiked up and had a really nice picnic.

It was really sweet, and kinda sentimental. Steve said that he wanted to take me up there because it is symbolic of when Brigham Young went up there all those years ago and saw a vision of the future of the Salt Lake Valley.

I thought that this was a neat brick in the monument!

We went up to see the "future"of our relationship.
I thought that was really sweet and just classic Steve! I loved it!

ITCHY-ITCHY-ITCHY!!!!

Well it has been a rough week and a half for me...last week I woke up Sunday morning with strep throat. Yeah no fun...especially when you have a darling little boy that you just love to hug and kiss and cuddle with. My doctor prescribed me some amoxicillin to help get rid of the strep. WELL! Last night, after having taken the amoxicillin for the last week I woke up at about 4 am itching my hands. They felt like they were on fire or like they had been eaten by fleas, and I just couldn't stop scratching my hands. Then my feet started to itch, then my face, then my back, arms, stomach....Well I was covered in hives and my face started to swell, my arms and hands started to swell. It was no fun! It freaked me out and I started to hyperventilate and I was totally freaking out! Steve, being the AMAZING husband that he is went to Walmart and like 5 am and bought me some benadryl and some claritin for the hives. So it turns out that I am now allergic to penicillin! I took my body 26 years to freaking figure that out!
Luckily by the time I woke up this morning the hives were gone and I am totally fine. But last night was a little scary! Thank goodness for WebMD

My sweet husdand!

I just wanted to take a minute to praise Steve for the wonderful husband and father that he is! I have been really sick with strep throat since Sunday...I mean hardly getting out of bed. It's practically killed me...OK not quite but you get the picture. And being that strep throat is extremely contagious I've been a nervous wreck about Wrigley getting it from me. So to ease my mind as best he can & to help me recover, Steve has been letting me sleep in and completely taking care of Wrig's until he has to go to work. I mean I've been sleeping til about noon since Sunday, and not once was I awakened to Wrigley crying or anything!

It is hard to be a Mom and to be sick, but with a husband as patient and understanding as mine it is something (however unpleasant) that I now know I can handle!

THANK YOU STEVE FOR BEING SO GREAT!!!!!

I LOVE YOU!!!
