Whew!

It's been a rough couple of weeks for us.
We started off with Wrigs getting the nasty swine flu and being a sick sick boy for a whole week, but luckily he got better in time for {Trick-0r-Treating}.
We moved my 90 yr old Grandma into an assisted living community. She fell the other day and had a small stroke and isn't doing too well.
The worst part of it all is that my darling sister-in-law Shawna's Father passed away last week from H1N1. It has been so sad that his wonderful life was cut so short. He was such a great "Father" for my older brother Robbie. We know that we will see Neil again someday and that he is with his Father again.
***Here's to hoping that these next few weeks are better ones!***

{TrIcK-oR-tReAt}

We went as the Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 & Thing 2! It was so much fun! Wrigley was precious! He didn't like having his hair sprayed blue but he was so cute! It was really fun to take him trick or treating and for him to have the whole experience. He was so cute saying "Teak a Teat!" My heart just melted as he (yes he) knocked on the doors and picked out the candy that he wanted! I can't wait for next year!

{wRiGlEy 1St CaMpInG tRiP}

We packed up our car and headed south to Mona for a quick camping trip with some friends this Labor Day weekend. This was my 2nd experience camping and number 1 for Wrigley. I wasn't quite sure what to expect...but it went much better than expected.

We got to the site and set up our tent...only then did we realize we had the wrong poles for our tent...oh well what do ya do? We made the best of it, and we were still plenty comfortable for the night. Wrigley was such a good little boy, exploring all through our camp site and following the boys into the wilderness for potty time!
Wrigley getting an exploding fist bump from Jayson! His favorite part of the evening!
There's nothing like a clean face while your enjoying the great outdoors!

It was so much fun that I want to go again over UEA!

Steve had fun going off the rope swing that we found there...it had 3 different levels you could swing off of. Wrigley however wasn't so excited about the water...to cold or something, but that was the first time he ever wanted to get out of the water right after diving in!

The Host

OK, so after hearing a BUNCH of mixed reviews I finally decided to read Stephenie Meyer's "The Host"
I really enjoyed this book. Here's the thing people its NOT Twilight! Surprise Surprise its a totally different genre too. I think that we tend to put authors in one category and expect everything to fit into it. That is not the case thank goodness.
I really liked this book and I enjoyed every word that I read. That's my 2 cents on this topic. I definitely recommend this book.

Makin Crayons

On Wednesday we made some fun toddler size crayons outta a crap load of old crayons. It took me FOREVER to peel the paper off all those crayons but the result was well worth it, and even though Wrigs thinks that some of them are cookies they are still fun!

San Diego in July

We just got back from the most GLORIOUS week in San Diego. It was just what I needed, a nice sandy beach to relax at. We rented a house in Mission Beach and split our time between the beach, the Zoo and Sea World. Wrigley had SO much fun all week with his cousins. He especially loved the ocean. He would run in splash and then when a wave would come he would turn around and run the other way.
He tried to drink the sea water (YUCK) and I'm sure that he ate plenty of sand...but
HE LOVED IT! He is doing the sign for fish.

Buried in the sand with Dad. He loved it!
The San Diego Zoo...he wasn't too happy that day, it was especially hot out.

The La Jolla Cave!

Yup. That's a shark!
My new favorite picture! I love these two boys!

The Carousel at Sea Port Village. I used to ride it every summer when we would go as a little girl, so I had to have Wrigs ride it while we were there.

I am sad to be home, but we are looking forward to going back next year!

Family Pics

Lisa, Shawna's little sister took some family pictures before the Brady clan headed back out earlier this month. Lisa is not a professional, but looking at some of these pictures she could be.

Wrigley and Tary look like they are telling secrets up on their Dad's shoulders. That is just they way they are! Best buds!

SO CUTE! I don't think I need to say anything else about this one!

Thanks Lisa! They look great!

Its a little late, but I had to post the darling ties that "Wrigley" made for his Dad & Grandpa. They are so cute and Steve even wore his to church on Sunday for Fathers day! :)

Green is Good!

I bought some toys at a garage sale for Wrigley a few weeks ago, and I didn't want him to play with them until I cleaned them up...it took me a few weeks, but I finally got to it. I used a great green cleaning recipe.Mix 1 Qt. warm water with 3 Tbsp. Baking Soda, dissolve and rub with a rag or sponge, and then rinse with warm water and dry with a cloth. It's that easy!

Look What I Did!

Today I caught a bug, the craft bug! I love it when that happens and the creative juices just start to flow. Once I get Wrigley down for a nap, I get down to the fun stuff! I took some plain boring storage boxes, and added some fun to them. Wrigleys books and toys just over run the family room, so now not only do the boxes serve a purpose but they also look good doing it!

I started with some print outs, and some heat n' bond, and I traced the pattern to the heat n' bond and my first step is done! **Remember to trace them backwards!

Then I cut them out and ironed them onto the color fabric that I wanted. Super easy!

Then all you have to do is iron them onto your project...but don't pull a "Carrie" and put the iron directly onto the box...I melted the fabric and ruined one of them! OOPS! :)

The finished project looks great! I'm excited about how it turned out...and even Wrigley noticed it today, and pointed to it and was talking to me about it!

Touching a snake!

Chasing after Taryn~

Last week Wrigs and I went to the Zoo with Shawna and Taryn. The kids had so much fun together. It is so fun to see them playing together. Over the last few months these cousins have become such good buddies!

Saturday we went to some friends house to have a BBQ and Wrigs had fun playing with their puppy and jumping on the tramp!

The Puppy and Wrigs would take turn running after each other. It was really sweet!
He had some seriously static while playing on the tramp. Steve and the other guys there were playing basketball and Wrigs wanted in on the fun, and so Steve gave Wrigs the ball and played ball with him.
