Happy 1st Birthday!

Today we {CeLeBrAtEd} Wrigley's 1st birthday!
We had family and friends over and gathered around the big guy to help him open presents and yes enjoy his first taste of cake!

Mommy made him a very special carousel cake for his friends and a special cake just for him to destroy...and destroy it he did! He enjoyed that cake so much! I couldn't believe how much he dug into that cake, and more importantly how much of it he ate/got all over!

Wrigley must have felt that I was too clean because he shared some of his cake with me! It was yummy, and it had that great mushed up baby slobber cake taste to it! What a treat for me!

For his birthday Wrigley's grandpa, who we lovingly call "Gruff" painted Wrigley 2 great pictures for his room. They are pictures that I picked out for him to paint but they turned out so great! I can't wait to frame them and put them in his room!

I think that Wrig's was a little overwhelmed by the party today...or he just didn't know what was going on, but either way I think that he had a lot of fun today!

I want to thank everyone who came to help us celebrate this great day for Wrigley. It meant a lot to us to have you there and to be a part of that!

Sandals

For Wrig's first birthday he needs shoes...

I've been looking on line and I've found a lot of cute shoes that he would look so cute wearing.

I really want to find him some Chuck Taylors...

but then I found these!

They are on Zappos.com.

I think they would look so cute but I can't make up my mind.

Chucks or Keens?

Seriously...Still!

So Wrigley is just a few short days away from turning 1! I've been eagerly awaiting the day with mixed feelings.
What I've really been waiting for is Wrigley to get over his reflux completely...or for it to just stop making him throw up (Yeah did I mention that it's actual BARF now?)! He threw up all over me as I was getting him ready for bed...it was so gross it was a mix of spaghetti and crackers, and it was stinky!
I had been lead to believe that by this time, the spit up would only be a fleeting memory. Yeah not so much!
Oh well! What do ya do?

No more baths!

I don't know what the little man's deal is but all of the sudden he HATES his baths. We went away to our friends cabin over the weekend and while we were there he developed some sort of fear of baths. Friday night I took him in the hot tub with me with some of the other kids that were there. We got out and we took a shower-bath together and things went smoothly. Saturday same story, but when Steve went to give him his bath he went completely POSTAL, he was screaming and would not let go of Steve's shirt. Then Sunday again same thing, had fun in the hot tub, but as soon as the bath water started running he freaked! Well I thought that it was just a strange tub phobia or something, but tonight I tried to give him a bath and he would not let go. He had a serious death grip on my shirt, and his body went totally rigid when I tried to lower him into the water. I was at a complete loss, so I tried to sooth him for a little while and then I tried again and yet again he freaked out. We're talking blood curdling screaming, legs kicking, death grip...the whole deal. So I called it quits. But I'm at a total loss because up to this point the little dude has absolutely LOVED his bath time. I hope it's just a phase and that we'll be back to flooding the bathroom with splashes in no time!

Suggestions anyone?
